A l’écoute du temps trouvé, immersion sonore pour cloches suspendues
HYPERTEMPS is a kinetic sound performance exploring the notions of time, rhythm, and cycles. An invitation to escape the hyper-solicitation of our societies and settle into a more qualitative time.
At the center of the stage, three percussionists and a loudspeaker system play rhythmic flows that intersect, creating a kind of trance. Around the audience, a first circle of six tubular bells ring out a shifted soundscape as the score progresses. Six other suspended bells are set in motion, arranged behind the audience, creating resonances that further expand the space of perception. Three circles of sound time are installed and intersect, inviting us to feel and listen to the passing of time.
HYPERTEMPS is also an installation, composed of suspended, digitally controlled tubular bells and loudspeakers connected to motors striking non-resonant metal objects. An immersive device that plays on scales of perception, alternating long cycles and rapid flows. The visitor thus moves through an interlacing of frenetic or more peaceful loops, echoing and questioning the rhythm of our technological societies and our changing natural spaces.
